DOT's plan drawings for the Transitway show two-way bus stations at intersections along 34th Street

As indicated in these plans, the stations will require the REMOVAL of trees for a length of 150 feet at each intersection. That means trees now located at 34th Street corners will be destroyed!

These trees and their flowerbeds are their communities' pride. At the Opus Dei building at Lexington Avenue, for example, they create a beautiful small park with benches – one of the only landscaped open spaces in their area. According to the Transitway's drawings, the trees at the edge of this park will be removed.

Check the photographs below to see the trees that at the northeast corners of 34th Street and Park, Lexington, Third, Second and First Avenues, where Transitway bus stations are planned. These trees will disappear.

DOT's plan drawing shows proposed bus stations' removal of 150 feet of trees at each 34th Street intersection.
