Transitway's Hidden Costs: The Double Tax!

The Transitway will cost up to $125-million in public funds. For property, co-op and condo owners whose buildings are adjacent to the Above Ground Subway, there's a hidden tax: the cost of covering over-time for building staff that will be forced to work at night when DOT allows building service, from oil deliveries to boiler repair. And that means increased maintenance fees resulting in lower property values for co-ops and condos, a "lose-lose" for apartment owners.
